Valentines Day Party!
Last night, we had our Valentines Day party with the Activity Days girls. It was a lot of fun and I had so much fun planning, cooking/baking and decorating for this party. Last year we had a white elephant and it was very successful so we decided to do it again.
Here's a list of what we had as party food:
Here's a list of what we had as party food:
- Carrots, Heart Shaped Cucumbers, and Cilantro Ranch
- Heart Shaped Jicama
- Mini Pigs in a Blanket
- Cupcakes
- Heart Jello
- Mickey Mouse Cookies
I made a cherry jello and used a cookie cutter to make heart shapes.
Then, I made a white, milk based jello.
I let the white jello set up for about 10 minutes and then added the red hearts. As you can see, some of the white jello splashed on the red hearts, do not worry, they can be scraped off gently after the jello has set.
I promise, they look better when they're stacked and have the frosting! Haha.
I used the cut outs to make tiny mickey mouse head cookies.
I bought this cookie making kit from Walmart, when I made it, it was the exact same recipe as Ree Drummund's Chocolate Cookies with Toppings
The frosting:
4 Tbsp. of Butter, 1 cup of powdered sugar, 1 Tbsp. of milk and food coloring.
Beat softened butter in electric mixer until fluffy, add the powdered sugar and food coloring. Beat on slow and slowly drizzle in a stream the milk.
I forgot to take an up-close picture of the Playing Cards garland I made but you can kind of see it in the background of this picture.

I set up a Prizes table (the prizes were a bunch of little notepads and erasers I had bought at the .99 cents store in Cali... which is a good way to declutter!) and every girl was able to get multiple prizes.
Our White Elephant gifts had a limit of $5.00 so that the girls could work for the money and buy something they liked. The girls were so excited to see what they got!
These are the games we played.
Charades.
Heads Up.
Pictionary.
White Elephant.
Overall, we had a great time. Our branch president walked into the room, looked around and asked me to bring in the jello hearts and also decorate the gym for Friday's Valentines Day Ward Party. :)
Happy Valentines Day!
